Learn More →OLEK is, without a doubt, a superior furniture restoration and reupholstery workroom, so conveniently located in Essex County, New Jersey. From an everyday job to historic repairing of wood, iron, car materials, historic windows, fabric and much more, Peter and his crew work wonders and inform you every step of the way. We had a set of four Indonesian Mahogany chairs restored that we snagged on bulky waste night at curbside, as well as other mid-century modern chairs that needed a little TLC. Cost is reasonable and care is something from days gone by. Call Peter or Yan today. You can't imagine how pleased you will be!
STUNNED!!! Pleasantly! After a protracted storage period for some treasured furnishings, I had the unfortunate experience of seeing the effects of time, lack of care and the elements had on them. From rust to degraded fabric and components (wheels, casters, wiring) to chipped, faded wood and brass trim.I feel extremely lucky to have found Olek, Inc. in Orange, New Jersey. As I sent photos of an Herman Miller Eames office chair, Knoll Albini desk, Anglepoise Floor and table lamps and a unique Art Deco Rosewood side table they quickly offered to restore all of them with confidence. EVEN after seeing them in person. They worked to explain the processes required since Ihonestly thought these were all "lost" for good.Thrilled to report that was not the case. As a matter of fact, I am posting here willingly because of the outstanding result on every single piece. Not only has every piece been restored to the original beauty but the Rosewood table specifically (made of a combination of Rosewood, steel plates and casters as wheels) looks better than when originally bought. I cannot express how pleased I am with the results.Cleary Peter and his team are extremely professional. They took the time and care to bring these pieces back from what I assumed was disrepair (if not despair). As importantly, they listened.DTEN
If you have furniture that needs to be refinished, Olek Restoration does an excellent job. The craftspeople are experts-- Peter was able to explain the process to me clearly and accurately. Our table and chairs now look amazing. The finish is perfect- the texture of the wood really comes through. Olek also restored our little rocking chair for the next generation. Everything looks great in a completely natural and gentle way. I highly recommend Olek.
When my vintage Eames lounge chair suddenly broke in two I found several places that claimed to specialize in such restoration. I am so glad that I picked Oleck. Peter Triestman and the men he works with are true artists and experts at furniture restoration. I would trust them with furniture from any period and plan on bringing them other fine furniture I have that needs serious repair. They returned all of my emails quickly, answered questions, and picked up and returned the furniture in great time. Thank you Olek!
This is the second time that I have had Olek reupholster a few of my sofas, each time I have been astonished at the stunning work. Everything is perfect, not only the furniture, but the customer service, their professionalism, the time it takes to complete, the pick up and delivery, Yan in accounting and Peter, well he is simply wonderful. I cannot imagine ever using anyone but Olek. Thank you!
OLEK is the BEST. They refinished two dressers, four tables, two cabinets, old barrister bookcase, two chairs, and bench. The bench was re-upholstered and everything was done perfectly. All my pieces were extremely delicate and all family heirlooms. OLEK is so knowledgable about best way to repair and refinish. In fact, some of the pieces were refinished about 5 years ago at another place and were NOT done correctly. I whole-heartedly recommend OLEK. They even fixed several drawers that were difficult to open. I had no idea how much I now love it when all drawers are SO EASY TO OPEN plus everything smells great. There is no better feeling to have cherished pieces that look and FUNCTION so well. I am using the barrister bookcase in my kitchen to hold beautiful glasses and dishes. The pickup occurred during apt renovation. Everything went smoothly and timeframe promised worked perfectly. Do not give up on old wood antiques. NOTHING LOOKS BETTER! I AM SO HAPPY WITH OLEK's work and give them highest recommendations!!!
Best in the business! There is no project to big (or too small) and they are responsive and professional. They are true artists, and the quality of the work is exceptional. Highly recommended.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism
We have been wanting to properly repair and upholster a 1960's era Eames chair and Ottoman for many years. We've been looking for someone who understands both leather and the mid-century design. Olek fills this niche perfectly. Our chair was given to me by a mentor, and we wanted it repaired and refurbished without compromising the original structure and materials. Olek knows Eames. They understand the materials, how the chair is constructed, and how to properly repair damage. Their repairs are in keeping with the original design intent, including using high quality leather and carefully preserving what they can from the original chair.Thank you for the quality workmanship, your care, and keeping us apprised of the work as it progressed.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism
My genuine Herman Miller rosewood Eames chair and ottoman dating from 1979 was in need of reupholstering. I also had 3 cushions from my Corbusier LC2 sofa that were worn. Based on a Google search and reviews, I blindly sent off my valuable furniture to Olek for repair. Boy did I luck out! David and Peter kept me apprised of their progress along the way and the results are stunning! The leather is exactly the same as the original leather circa 1979 (not the lower-grade leather currently used by Herman Miller). It's butter soft and beautiful. I highly recommend Olek, especially if you're refurbishing mid-century furniture like the classic Eames lounge chair.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value
Extremely Talented Team! I started off talking to the owner Peter, who responded promptly to my request and after sharing some photos, provided me with a quote and put me in touch with David. David, who's friendly personality instantly clicked with me took care of all the details and arranged the pickup and the delivery. David was responsive, knowledgeable, and comforting. Dexter picked up and delivered the pieces. Dexter is one of the nicest, friendliest, most careful delivery people I've ever worked with. He lovingly wrapped all the pieces and somehow fit them perfectly into this small minivan then brought them back even more lovingly and placed each one carefully into position in my home. The work done by OLEK was exceptional! I loved these pieces in my grandmothers home as a child, then they were passed on to my mother, then passed to me. Well worn with time and use, veneer missing in many places, crazed surfaced. I am pleased to say that now they look amazing! I have attached before and after pictures of the pieces. Thank you Peter and your wonderful team at OLEK!
It’s taken me way too long to acknowledge the extraordinary job these miracle workers did on my Hans Wegner Shellback chair, but now that I’ve been living with it for a while, I can say that I feel grateful to them each time I sit on it or gaze adoringly at it from across the room. They repaired and rebuilt the frame, rewove the seat, and honored my request to leave the old finish as it was, even giving me instructions on how to do it myself in case I ever want to. They communicated clearly throughout the process, promptly answered all of my questions, were a pleasure to deal with, and completed the beautiful job faster than promised at a reasonable price. They even sent photos of the process so I was able to enjoy watching it be reborn.I can’t recommend Peter and his crew highly enough. Here are the before and after shots –Martha Glenn
My beloved Poul Jensen Z couch suffered a tragic accident in which one her teak legs was shattered. As soon as I started my research for repair - which I didn't actually think was possible - Olek came up. Over and over in my research they came up. I called and spoke with David, who assured me they could repair it. I sent my photos to Peter, who sent me a quote straight away.I sent my leg to them from California, crossed my fingers and waited.Holy cats! You seriously cannot tell a repair was made. It's magic I tell you. The person who did the actual work is an artisan named Yuri. Thank you Yuri, it's beautiful and perfect. Thanks to David and Peter as well for their professionalism, quick turn around and for listening to me sob out my story.
